ABC Institute

The ABC Institute provides leadership to achieve quality, comprehensive arts education (dance, music, theatre, visual arts and creative writing) for all students in South Carolina.

The ABC Institute achieves its mission through three interdependent goals of influence:

  • identify, promote, increase, and support best practices in arts education and arts in education, 
  • conduct, publish, and advance research on the influence and impact of arts in education, 
  • inform advocacy efforts to ensure education policy provides and protects equitable access to quality, comprehensive arts education for all SC students.

Accessible Professional Development

SYNOPSIS

As an Arts Grow SC partner, ABC Institute will offer a variety of professional learning opportunities to empower local leadership throughout SC. Professional learning opportunities include but are not limited to:

FOR TEACHERS

FOR SCHOOLS

  • ABC School Visits and Network meetings
  • Hosting workshops on how to Develop Arts-rich Environments

FOR ADMINISTRATION, DISTRICT, and HIGHER EDUCATION

GOALS

  • Increased student access to learning in the arts and through arts integration (in both traditional (in person) and contemporary (hybrid and virtual) instruction models)
  • Improved teacher efficacy to implement arts integration.
  • Increased student engagement and academic achievement as a result of access to learning in and through the arts.
