Arts Project Support

The purpose of this South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC) grant is to support artists’ and organizations’ quality arts projects & programs and/or their commitment to improving themselves and/or their work artistically.

Application Deadline

Rolling
– At least six weeks before the project begins, for projects starting on or after September 15, 2021
– (Note: For projects beginning September 1-14, 2021, the application deadline is August 15, 2021.)
Application Period: July 1, 2021-April 15, 2022.

Funding

Up to $2,500 within a fiscal year

Teaching Artists Forum at USC

The Teaching Artist’s Forum is a one-day in person professional learning conference for Teaching Artists presented by the SC Arts Commission and the USC School of Music.
 
The event will be held Saturday, February 24 at the USC School of Music from 9 am to 4 pm.
 
The focus of this year’s forum is embracing change and best practices in teaching artistry. The day will include a keynote speaker, hands-on (arts discipline specific) break out sessions, networking luncheon, topical information sessions and more. We hope that it will be a valuable day to learn and be in community with fellow teaching artists.

If you are or want to be a teaching artist, you’ve got to know the S.C. Educational Standards. Round 2 of the new #ArtsGrowSC webinar series “Being a Teaching Artist” can help.

During two afternoon webinar sessions, explore the purpose, function, and use of the 2017 South Carolina College and Career-Ready Standards in teaching artistry. Practicing teaching artist Jef Lambdin and guest presenters will share how to use the standards in lesson planning for arts and arts-integrated lessons and residencies.

Artist Entrepreneur Incubator

The Artist Entrepreneur Incubator (AEI) is a series of monthly discipline-based interactive workshops for artists who are interested in transitioning their craft into a business.

Workshops are led by artists of all disciplines, arts consultants, and educators.  Workshops include information on basic business, licensing, marketing, contracts, and identifying resources for support and sustainability.

The ABC App is a collaborative networking tool that connects you with individuals, organizations, and events in the arts across the state of South Carolina and beyond. Through the ABC App, you have the opportunity to:

South Carolina Arts Directory

The SC Arts Directory is an extensive directory of artists, arts organizations, and teaching artists across many disciplines who work throughout South Carolina. It serves as a connector for artists, organizations, schools, and communities and allows users to find who they are looking for in multiple ways: search, artistic discipline, geographic availability, or Certified Teaching Artists.
